About Mark
Mark (more commonly known in the industry as Pip), is a professional electrical engineer with a wealth of experience that has been gained over many years and through working with teams of all sizes and often in challenging environments. He has a strong track record of managing and implementing projects of all sizes, within budgets and timescales.

He began his career in electrical engineering in 1978 when he embarked on a four-year apprenticeship with Eastern Electricity in St Albans, gaining his City & Guilds qualifications in Electric and Electronic Engineering. Mark secured further City & Guilds qualifications in Streetworks Excavation and Reinstatement during 1996.
Mark was employed by Eastern Electricity, undertaking various positions and at numerous locations for eighteen years. During this time, he was responsible for cable jointing and maintaining overhead lines. More recent positions have required expertise in providing new connections, internal reinforcement, switchgear changes, HV and LV diversion and new business, HV and LV overhead line diversions, rebuilds, dismantles, reinforcements and tree cutting. During his career, Mark has held positions of Trainee, Forman, Field Supervisor and S.A.P Project Manager.
Since 1996 he has held contractor positions with Balfour Kilpatrick Limited, In-2-Power, Walgrave Contracting Services Limited, Baineport Electrical Services Limited, Electrical Network Solutions Limited, Stormport Professional Services Limited and Ipsum Power (Licensed Networks) Limited. More recently he has held the position of SAP / Project Manager as an employee of Western Power Distribution.
Whilst working with Western Power, Mark has also been responsible for numerous management tasks including negotiating with customers, dealing with the general public whilst on site and managing network incidents. He has also been responsible for designing and managing network outages, program and manage EV charging connections, write and issue safety documentation, identify and manage contingency plans, manage contractors, liaise with the Highways Authority with regards to HAUC notices and traffic management requests and more.
This wealth of experience enables Mark to demonstrate very good communications skills at all levels and an ability to manage his workload and also teams to meet tight deadlines in all conditions.
